In the coming months, the Yolo County Transportation District (YCTD) will be making Yolobus service changes to bring you a better bus experience!

Phase 1: Changes to Intercity Route 42A & 42B  Delayed Due to Driver Shortage

The Yolo County Transportation District (YCTD) needs to delay the planned launch of Yolobus Route 42A/42B service improvements due to recent and unanticipated driver and staffing shortages. The planned increases to Route 42 frequency, as well as changes to the Route 42 path in Davis and Downtown Sacramento, will no longer take place on Sunday, September 12th. Current Route 42A/42B paths and schedules will remain in effect until further notice.

Once Yolobus has secured enough drivers to reliably operate the planned service changes, we will announce a new launch date. Updated information will be communicated through this website. You can also sign up to receive email updates about all Yolobus service changes here (see "Join Our Email List").

Phase 1: Permanent service reductions or eliminations on underutilized commuter and express routes

On September 12, 2021, we will be permanently eliminating some underutilized commuter and express routes to re-allocate resources to more heavily used services. Click on Davis, West Sac, or Woodland to learn about specific changes coming to each community.

Phase 2: West Sacramento changes

No earlier than October 24, 2021, we will be making changes to local West Sacramento routes. For more details about the West Sacramento changes, click here.

Phase 3: Woodland changes

As early as January 2022, we will be making changes to local Woodland routes. For more details about the Woodland changes, click here.

Why is YCTD making changes to Yolobus services?

These service changes were recommended as part of the YoloGo Study, a multi-year effort to determine how Yolobus transit services can better serve our communities. The Final YoloGo Report was approved by the YCTD Board in April 2021 and is available for download here.
